DeciBars ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
We collect information you provide directly, such as your email address and name when you create an account. We also collect noise measurements and venue data you submit, favorites you save, and usage activity within the app.
We use your data to provide and improve the DeciBars service — including displaying noise measurements, calculating your streaks and badges, and showing personalized venue recommendations. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
When you use the Nearby or Measure features, we request access to your device's location. Location data is used only in the moment to find nearby venues and is not stored on our servers.
The decibel measurement feature requires microphone access. Audio is processed entirely on your device — we do not record, transmit, or store any audio data.
Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings page.
We use Google Maps to find and display venue information. Google's use of data is governed by their own privacy policy at policies.google.com.
